This unique itinerary aboard the MS Volendam sails roundtrip from Montreal, weaving through Eastern Canada’s most breathtaking ports, including Quebec City, Saguenay, Charlottetown, and St. John’s, Newfoundland before a rare stop in Saint Pierre and Miquelon, a French territory just off our coast.
Welcome to Montreal! The City of Montreal is a striking union of old-world charm and new-world attitude. Its name refers to the triple-peaked hill in the heart of the city, Mount Royal.
Cruise begins!
Few places in North America are as steeped in history as Quebec City, Canada. Older than Jamestown and founded before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock, it is the only city north of Mexico whose original fortifications remain intact. The Quebec City historic district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is still home to religious orders and hospitals that date back to the 17th century.
Canada’s Saguenay Fjord National Park encloses a very deep, winding waterway penetrating from the St. Lawrence River through the ancient glaciated foothills of the Laurentian Mountains. The city of Saguenay is situated on the beautiful Saguenay River 78 miles (126 km) upriver from its confluence with the mighty St. Lawrence.
Cruising the culf of St. Lawrence. Each day on board offers delicious dining options, world-class entertainment and enriching activities.
A city firmly dedicated to nostalgia, PEI’s capital is full of period buildings recalling a past that strongly informs the present. The City Hall is a National Historic Site of Canada, and the city proudly proclaims its history as the Birthplace of Confederation.
Each day on board offers delicious dining options, world-class entertainment and enriching activities.
Closer to London than it is to Canada’s west coast, the capital of Newfoundland, St. John’s, has long looked east and across the Atlantic. It is the easternmost city in North America, excluding Greenland, and has its own time zone, a half-hour ahead of the rest of eastern Canada.
The tiny French island of St-Pierre & Miquelon are the last remnants of the former colonial territory of New France. Enjoy the uniquely French architecture, cafes and people.
